Election day has (almost) arrived. And this midterm season is seriously heating up. Don’t consider your work done after you cast your ballot. Encourage your friends to vote. Volunteer at the polls. Or volunteer for a cause or campaign you feel passionately about. Let this election cycle propel you into activism that brings the change in government you want to see

50 by 2050 NOVEMBER CALENDAR

NOVEMBER 1: HRC: Truth in the DMV Intern Lunch and Learn

Washington, D.C.

12–1:30 p.m.

Join TRUTH and interns from HRC around the city to learn the facts about how big tobacco purposefully targets LGBTQ people, people of color and low income people in advertising.

NOVEMBER 2: HRC: Love from Stonewall-Support Marriage Equality in Taiwan

The Stonewall Inn

7–9 p.m.

Learn more about the current situation and join together to raise resources for the local team in Taiwan working to defeat the anti-LGBT ballot.

NOVEMBER 2: Emerge America: Join Emerge America for an Evening with Gloria Steinem

7–10 p.m.

Watch Gloria: A Life, a play by Emily Mann based on the life of Gloria Steinem. Then see the woman herself lead a discussion about the current political climate.  

NOVEMBER 3: HRC: LGBTQ Blockwalk

Walk and canvas a block with a group of equality volunteers and advocates. Share your experience and values with others in person concerning why you support Beto’s campaign.

NOVEMBER 5: HRC: HRC/ATX Phonebank for Equality Candidates

Make calls with a group of equality volunteers and advocates. Share your experience and values with others over the phone concerning why you support Beto’s campaign.

NOVEMBER 6: HRC: Get Out the Vote Blockwalk

Walk and canvas a block with a group of equality volunteers and advocates. Share your experience and values with others in person concerning why you support Beto’s campaign.

NOVEMBER 6: Emerge America: Shattering Ceilings: Election Night 2018

5–10 p.m.

Watch results from elections around the country in a celebration of resistance and the next generation of female leaders. Score discount tickets if you’re under a future leader under 21.

NOVEMBER 7: Higher Heights: November #SundayBrunch

Virtual

2 p.m. ET

Higher Heights wants young women to take Twitter by storm to talk all things #BlackWomenVote. Join in on the Twitter discussion about how to raise your voice and activate your networks.

NOVEMBER 13: Emerge America: Election 2018 and the Road to 2020

Regardless of how the midterm elections turnout, attend a panel of politicals to hear their thoughts on the results and their action plans for 2020.

NOVEMBER 13: She Should Run: National Conversation: Road to Run

Candidates, CEOs, authors and presidents of major companies will lead a series of panels designed to prepare women for political advocacy and candidacy. Learn about managing money personally and politically while organizing yourself and others to run for office.

At the third biannual New England Women’s Policy Conference, hear from keynote speaker, Tarana Burke (Founder of the #MeToo Movement), former congresspeople and city council members to get inspired to run for office early in your career. Attend workshops to learn how identity the change you want to bring about.
