College scares you into thinking that finding a job is as hard as finding a needle in a haystack. But that doesn’t mean you want to settle for anyone that agrees to hire you. Learn how to get a job from experts and recent grads who’ve been there, and done that.

Start a targeted (and realistic) search for jobs so that you spend nine to five somewhere that actually interests or challenges you.

That means you want to look beyond the dollar signs on your contract before you sign. According to Glassdoor, 80 percent of employees consider benefits when searching for a job, so find out what benefits you need to survive (and eventually, retire).
