Coolhaus Internship

Sales Intern-Los Angeles, California

Once upon a time at Coachella, Natasha Case and Freya Estreller set up their ice cream truck and began serving Coolhaus’s uniquely crafted and distinctly flavored ice cream sandwiches (fondly called Sammies). Ice cream lovers couldn’t get enough so Coolhaus built two trendy storefronts, sent out 10 roaming ice cream trucks and began selling prepackaged ice cream products in over 4,000 markets. Coolhaus invites creative, fresh and bright ice cream loving interns to join their sales team. Interns will learn the inner workings of a rapidly growing company and support the vision and expansion of an LA hot spot. It doesn’t get any cooler than interning for Coolhaus.

What it’s actually like

Interns usually fetch coffee and do a lot of the grunt work, but Coolhaus sales interns work closely with managers and the CEO on daily sales and business tasks. As a sales intern, you’ll generate and organize leads, and email campaigns, promotions, distribution, broker management, new business, presentations, logistics, warehousing/storage and production. You’ll definitely be kept busy!

Cool stuff you get to do

Keep your semester (or summer!) cool and fresh while also gaining work experience. Working hard and playing hard defines Coolhaus’ work culture. Sales Manager Jarett Margolis said, “Some [interns] have been invited to help at music festivals, sporting events, etc. Often times they get to taste flavors that are in development before the public knows about it.” Interning for Coolhaus doesn’t mean you’ll be a pencil pusher all day.

What you’ll learn

You’ll become a pro by the end of your internship after helping out with market research and gathering the research into a written document. And for those of you with creative souls, don’t fret! You’ll put your creative mind to work by developing and executing online promotions and campaign strategies. Sales interns support the wholesale department. This department controls the distribution of all that delicious ice cream. Interns also assist in updating and maintaining sales kits, which is the secret ingredient of Coolhaus marketing strategies. Sales kits contain informational content that’s handed to potential new clients. Think of this internship as a crash course in Sales 101.

How to prepare for your application

At last, writing down “proficient in Word and Excel” can actually land you an internship. Aside from that, candidates need strong written and verbal communication skills and extreme attention to detail. The applicant’s major must be related to the business, marketing, public relations or journalism field. Fit the bill? Put together a resume and email it to [email protected]

Skills that impress them

Merely completing your day-to-day tasks won’t impress these folks. They desire detail-oriented individuals. Coolhaus employees think big and need other creative peeps contributing to their infinitely expanding vision. Expand your knowledge by applying what you learned in the classroom to this challenge. Go above and beyond and embrace the passion for ice cream!

Cool perks

You never know what your workday will look like interning for Coolhaus. Margolis said, “I just had an intern accompany me to the set of Action Bronson’s new show on Viceland. We also had an intern help out with our activation we did with Khloe Kardashian a few days ago.” Just imagine all the networking opportunities you’ll encounter. As if that weren’t enough, interns can make some extra cash by working in the Culver City shop.

The deets
