The Upbeat Winter Playlist

By  |  0 Comments

It’s a blustery winter day and all you want to do is go for an iPod blasting, summer-style cruise.  While you can’t change the weather forecast, you can substitute these upbeat tunes for beaming sunrays, green grass and an open sunroof.
1. Dead and Gone – Black Keys
Basically, the Black Keys’ most recent album, El Camino, is a dance party in a CD case.
2. Lasso – Phoenix
Another party in a CD case. Period.
3. MGMT – Electric Feel
If this song doesn’t make you dance, you might be a robot.
4. Dog Days are Over – Florence + the Machine
I mean, have you seen the YouTube video of the baby straight gettin’ it to this song? I think that’s pretty explanatory.
5. Closer – Tegan and Sara
If this single is any indication of what to expect from their next album, Heartthrob, due out January 29, Tegan and Sara are on the verge of blowing up.
6. Sex on Fire – Kings of Leon
Is it really corny if I say that Caleb Followill’s voice may melt you despite the cold temps?
7. Blinded – Third Eye Blind
Classic summer tune, circa 2003.
8. American Girl – Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
And another classic.
9. A-Punk – Vampire Weekend
This song forces images of sunflower fields and dancing old people and other really happy, lame things into my brain.
10. Little Talks – Of Monsters and Men
If you can’t sing, there’s still plenty of flamboyant clapping to take part in.
