Girls-Only College Slumber Party

Whether it’s the evening after a wild party, the day of a bad break-up, or just a typical Saturday night, there’s always a good time for a girls-only slumber party. While you don’t have to be in sixth grade to enjoy the night, there are some great ways to put a grown-up twist on a favorite childhood activity.
Instead of having mom order pizza, why not whip up a few quick and easy hors d'oeuvres to munch on. A layered taco dip is always a favorite, and can be made by simply layering cream cheese, refried beans, canned salsa, and black olives, and sprinkling shredded cheddar cheese on top. For a special delicious adult dessert, put away the ice cream and hot fudge and fill hollowed out strawberries with chocolate liquor.
The best part about having an adult sleepover is that instead of slurping down milkshakes, guests can sip on tasty cocktails. Check out Girly-Drinks.com, a blog website that features recipes for "drinks that make women smile... and men blush." Try the Hot Chocolate Martini or the Tasty Orgasm. Party hosts can buy a variety of liquor and ingredients, and guests can pick out their desired drink and mix it up.
Even though the guests will enjoy a more mature menu, there is nothing wrong with bringing back a few games from the past. “When we were younger, we always used to play truth or dare or never have I ever,” says Brittany Callinan, a junior at the University of New Hampshire. “When my friends and I have girls nights nowadays, we still play them…things are just more interesting.” Instead of raising a hand every time you’ve done a ‘never have I ever,’ make things more entertaining by taking a sip of wine instead.
Girls love to gossip, so instead of telling ghost stories, share scary dating tales. “Everyone has had at least one horrible yet hilarious story about a date or a hook-up gone wrong,” says Vikki Banes, a junior at Michigan State. “You’d be surprised at the outrageous things some guys will do and say.” For the girls who would rather have a strictly guy-free night, the stories could be changed into rants about roommates, talks about the sneakiest things you’ve ever done, or funny stories about the night you had one drink too many.
Pillow fights and prank phone calls are old news, but a classy slumber party complete with gossip and Grey Goose never goes out of style. Still, the old rule stands: the first to fall asleep gets her bra in the freezer.
