Spring Break On A Budget

Ah, spring break. One of the best times to relax with a cocktail in the sun far away from classes and nonchalantly check out that sexy girl/guy at the pool bar. Before the fun begins however, there are a lot of stresses that come with planning spring break. Whether you’re looking for the cheapest deal, the hottest guys/girls or the best liquor, we’ve come up with some great tips for planning spring break:

On a Budget

The first thing you should do when planning a cheap spring break is ask friends if any of them have a beach house in Florida, California, etc. If not, flirt shamelessly with the guy in history class who always wears expensive shoes. If both of these missions fail, check out locations within driving distance of your school. For example, Daytona Beach has a great amount of large chain hotels and restaurants that can be extremely affordable if booked soon. Ocean City, Maryland also has a lot of cheap places to stay and often brings hundreds of local students to the area for spring break.

If you’re willing to skip out on the typical beach vacation, consider staying in an awesome city that may not be a popular spring break destination for a good deal during desperate times when Miami is getting all the attention. Always wanted to visit Boston? Book it! Is it on your bucket list to see the Space Needle in Seattle? Start looking for cheap hostel deals on sites like Hostelbookers.com. Party Town

If you’re more concerned with partying, alcohol consumption and making poor decisions on spring break, this opens up a whole world of options. Consider Miami Beach, which has blocks of hotels and clubs just waiting to be occupied by college students. Stay at the Deauville Beach Resort or another local spot that has a club right in the hotel. While you’re there, check out Lincoln Road Mall during the day and Ocean Drive at night.

If you’re from the southwest, consider visiting South Padre Island in Texas. The tiny island is swarming with college students during spring break who are all looking for a good time. You can walk around Isla Blanca Park, which has beautiful gardens along the beach, or hang out at Schlitterbahn Waterpark for a refreshing dip.

For a more adventurous vacation, you can often find last minute deals on cruise ships looking to fill up the last few cabins. This is the perfect excuse to stuff your face with unlimited ice cream and vodka. For great deals on all the major cruise lines, visit cruisecheap.com.
