Red, White, and One Crazy Night: Where to Celebrate Our Independence from the Redcoats

Don’t be bummed that that the Fourth of July falls on a Sunday; with no school or work the next day, it could just be the craziest night of the summer. Cities across the U.S. of A. are celebrating Independence Day the way our founding fathers would have wanted it. Take a road trip or jet set to one of our nation’s hot spots before tickets sell out.

Washington, D.C.:

Visit the most patriotic city for the most patriotic party—The Uncle Sam Jam. Make your way down to the Southwest Waterfront for tons of food and outdoor entertainment. ‘The Jam’ will include more than 20 bars and party areas with stages for guests to enjoy six DJs. Hot 99.5’s Chris Styles and DC 101’s Flounder Mash Ups will be in attendance along with five live bands. You can catch the event’s headliners Soul Asylum and Virginia Coalition, as well as an awesome view of D.C. and Virginia’s firework shows. After the event, take advantage of your free entry into nearby Zanzibar. The celebration goes from 3 to 10 p.m. Early bird tickets are now available, as are VIP tickets that will give you access to Zanzibar’s Party Deck and the Sky Club Rooftop with a 5-free-drink ticket.

Tickets: Early Bird/General Admission: $10; VIP: $50. http://www.theunclesamjam.com/

Las Vegas:

Venture out to Sin City for a fun-filled weekend of patriotism. “Fourth of July Weekend” at Venetian Hotel and Casino invites you to party all day and all night at Tao Lounge. A wristband allows you entry to the Tao Nightclub Saturday night and to Tao Beach Sunday all day to party with world renowned DJ Paul Van Dyk. You can literally add yourself to the guest list of celebrities by visiting Tao’s website. Celebrities are expected to show for birthdays and magazine issue releases that weekend, so prepare to party alongside a star! A printed ticket is required at the door and it must match the name of the purchaser.

Tickets: $50.00; 21 and up. http://www.taolasvegas.com/tao.html

New York City:

Leave it to ole’ New York to hold one of the glitziest Independence Day bashes.
Crimson, one of the city’s well-known nightclubs, will host The Governor’s Ball—no, not The Governor’s Ball that includes politicians and a toast from our President. This twist on the event is the third annual biggest all-white Independence Day party. Guests will also be helping Espio Carl, President of Espionage Entertainment Inc., ring in his birthday along with other birthday celebrations for Sam Goody, Wayne Fabulous, Willie Haze, Empress of Status Crew and many more. Partygoers can expect to find DJ Self, DJ Snap and DJ ExeQtive on the tables that night. All white attire is mandatory and a dress-to-impress, upscale theme is encouraged for the party that will start Sunday at 10 p.m. and will conclude around 4 a.m. on Monday.

Tickets: Advance tickets: $25, more at the door; 21 and up. http://governorsball2010-rss.eventbrite.com/

San Diego:

Hit the pool for this year’s Fourth at Fortune’s 4th of July Pool Party at Manchester Grand Hyatt in Downtown San Diego. TKProductions and Fortune 421 present a day of fashion, fun and California house music. All you need is beachwear for lying by the pool or dancing along to Ron Reeser and four other DJs. Ron Reeser is best known as the resident DJ of the Playboy Mansion. The pool deck will also provide guests with a front row view of San Diego’s Big Bay Boom July 4th Firework Show. The festivities begin at noon at the Kin Lounge (Kin Oasis) inside the Hyatt and don’t stop until 9 p.m. that evening.

Tickets: $20, advanced discount tickets available; 21 and up. http://clubdistrict.com/event/2700

Miami:

Bring the heat to your 4th of July and head down to Dream Nightclub for the Miami Dream Team July 4th Blowout. Six of Miami’s hottest DJ’s will rock two rooms from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in this popular nightclub. The night will feature a live performance from Swazy Styles, who will perform his hit song, “Birthday Suit.” Magazine model and video star, Maria Millions, will host the event with some of her girlfriends. The main room will feature hip-hop while the upstairs candle room will be open for all music including Latin and Reggaeton. Ladies get in free before midnight, so take advantage of this South Beach bash!

Tickets: $20.00, door price will be higher; VIP tickets available; 21 and up.
