‘Nice Guy’ Syndrome & UCSB Shooting

By  |  0 Comments

We've all heard of the 'nice guy' syndrome…guys who don’t understand why they can’t attract women and blame this on their oh-so-kind or friendly personality. The phrase “friend zone" may also get tossed around in the same context.

Robyn Smith, University of Florida junior journalism major, won’t stand for the ‘nice guy’ complaint because it perpetuates misogyny. In her latest column, ‘Nice guy’ syndrome gone deadly: Examining the UCSB shooting, Smith connects this 'syndrome' to the UCSB mass shooting. Her reasoning is spot on.
