How to Stay Motivated to Rock Your Finals

It’s that time of the year again. The sun has finally come out to play, the frat boys are blasting music from their front lawns and you have never felt less like doing work in your entire life. But with final exams, projects and papers due, right now is crunch time. So do not let the sunshine and promise of a quickly approaching summer ruin your GPA. Follow these tips from College Magazine and you will be able to keep your grades up while still enjoying the last few days of school.

Study outside. Just because you do not feel like hiding out in the library these days does not mean that you cannot get some major work done. The solution is simple: study outside, whether on the quad or in front of your dorm building.

“I think studying outside is one of the best things about warmer weather,” says Julie Sabo, a freshman at Syracuse University, “It’s definitely less boring than just staying inside and doing work. Plus, you get to tan while you study, so it’s like killing two birds with one stone.”

Stay motivated. After being motivated to boost or maintain your grades for an entire semester, it can be really hard to keep that motivation during the last few days of school. To stay motivated, think about your goals at the beginning of the semester and realize that you are almost there – right now is just the home stretch.

According to Susan Baroncini-Moe, who writes for lifehack.org, it is important to remember what you are fighting for when you are struggling to stay on track with your goals.

Study with friends. It is understandable that you want to spend plenty of time with your friends now that you will not see many of them for an entire summer. However, since you are so swamped with work, it can be difficult to make time for them. No problem: study with your friends. Just make sure that you are actually studying and not slacking off.

Leo Babauta, an expert on zenhabits.net, recommends that you surround yourself with a support network to help you accomplish your goals.

Finally, realize that the summer will be here in no time and that soon enough, you will get to sleep in, enjoy the sun and do absolutely nothing all you want.
