5 Drinks to Get Your Shamrock Shaking

FacebookTweet
Kelsey Thomas March 14, 2013

Throwing a shamrock-inspired shindig this year? Despite the overabundance of beer goggle glasses and dyed draughts, there’s more to this holiday than beer.  Check out our list of other creative ways to drink green this St. Patty’s day.

1. Green Dublin Apple Cocktail

Adulting with Your Mom Is Fun

1 part white cranberry juice
1 part sour apple schnapps
1 part Irish whiskey

2. Green Candy Infused Shots

Green candy (try Sour Patch Kids or Jolly Ranchers!)
Clear vodka

Pour 2 parts plain vodka, one part candy into a sealed container.  The longer you let it soak, the better it will taste (we’re talking days, people).  Shake occasionally.  The excess candy will need to be strained out before served.

3. Irish Coffee

1 cup of coffee
Irish whiskey (amount dependent on how bad midterms were)
Teaspoon of brown sugar

It’s not green, but it IS a St. Patty’s day must for those just getting out of evening class.

4. Irish Eyes

1 oz. Irish whiskey
¼ oz. Crème de Menthe
2 oz. cream

5. Sour Apple Highball

1 part sour apple schnapps
1 part lemon lime soda
1 part vodka
