College Magazine offers video, editorial, public relations and social media, marketing and campus representative internships for undergraduate students. Our internships are 10 hours a week and for college credit. With us you’ll learn the ins and outs of what it takes to create a magazine first hand.

VIDEO INTERNSHIP

College Magazine video editors are on the pulse of college life. They write the scripts, set the scenes and create awesomely collegiate videos for collegemagazine.com. Candidates must currently be pursuing a degree in Film, Broadcast Journalism or Communication and have previous experience creating and editing videos. If you consider yourself an aspiring screenwriter, director and comedian—this is the position for you. The position is ten hours per week and video editors may receive course credit.

EDITORIAL INTERNSHIP

College Magazine’s student editors are the visionaries of our content and the leaders of our team. Each editor oversees a team of staff writers, bloggers and a photographer. Editors determine their section’s monthly theme, article concepts, tone and multi-media involved. After articles are assigned, the editor works with his/her staff writers to discuss the angle of the story, make edits/comments for improvement and publish a final well-researched, creative and purposeful article. In addition to editing the staff writers’ articles, editors take on their own monthly feature as well as release college-related breaking news within their section. The position is ten hours per week and editors may receive course credit. Candidates must currently be pursuing a degree in English, Journalism or Communication and have previous experience editing for a college-level publication. The editorial intern should possess leadership qualities and is expected to bring fresh ideas to the table for creating quality content. We accept resumes for this position three times a year on the first of April, August and December.

PR & SOCIAL MEDIA INTERNSHIP

The PR & Social Media Intern is the voice of College Magazine. He/she connects College Magazine with students nationwide. The position entails communicating with online newspapers, magazines, blogs, radio and tv media and using social media as a tool to promote College Magazine. More specifically, the social media intern is expected to find innovative ways to reach out to our audience utilizing Facebook, Twitter and blogs. Candidates must be pursuing a degree in English, Journalism or Communication. The position is ten hours per week and interns may receive course credit.

MARKETING INTERNSHIP

The Marketing Intern knows what college students want and enjoys developing marketing campaigns that students will love. This is the internship where your clever slogans become the campaigns we run. The position entails researching, brainstorming and executing campaign ideas as well as assisting in pitches to potential partners. Candidates must be currently seeking a degree in business, marketing or communication.
Applicants should demonstrate strong communication skills, and prove to be motivated and reliable. The position is ten hours per week and interns may receive course credit.

CAMPUS REPRESENTATIVE

Campus Reps are the life of the College Magazine party. They represent College Magazine directly on their campus by co-hosting events, speaking to journalism classes about writing opportunities, distributing promotional materials and running tables with giveaways. Campus Reps also utilize social media to help connect students on his/her campus with College Magazine. Additonally, Reps report on exciting events happening on their campus on CollegeMagazine.com. Candidates must be outgoing, creative and involved on their campus. Potential candidates should be familiar with College Magazine and their campus' culture.
