Internships are offered during the summer semester to undergraduate and graduate students studying interactive media, museology, history, aviation, space science, photography, journalism, education, aircraft restoration and preservation, earth and planetary studies, archives, development, exhibits, public affairs, science and library disciplines.

To be considered for a summer internship, you must be a high school graduate and be enrolled in a degree-granting undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university. You are expected to have a strong academic record.

A $5,500 stipend is provided to help interns defray expenses. Information on lodging resources are provided upon selection as an intern, but interns are responsible for locating and securing lodging.

A commitment of 10 weeks during the summer is required. Full-time interns work 40 hours per week from approximately the first week in June until the second week in August.

-A resume.

-A cover letter with a brief personal statement and an outline of career goals, specification of which departmental internship is desired (positions offered for the Summer 2011 season are listed on our website) and whether you’d like to participate in diversity components for African American students or Hispanic/Latino students if applicable.

-Two contrasting writing samples (no more than three pages in length each) are required when applying for all but the following positions: Technical, Scenic Painting, Costuming, Stage Management, Accounting, Graphic Design, Information Systems, and Photography. These may be excerpts from papers you have previously written for classes, or something you have written for publication or for extra-curricular activities. You do not need to write something specifically for the application, please simply submit a sample of something you have written in the past.

-Two letters of recommendation (references may submit recommendation letters directly to internships@wolftrap.org. Your name must be included in the email subject line. Your references may also email pdf versions of their recommendation letters to you to be submitted with your application. Letters of recommendation are also accepted via postal mail.)

-Graphic Design, Web Communications, and Multimedia applicants are required to include at least three portfolio samples.
