Interning with a Start-Up like RadioFlag is a rich learning experience, unlike anything you will encounter in school or a regular job. Startup experience is an asset for your future. Our interns (on the software development side as well as marketing dept.) have been recruited by Amazon, Microsoft ,Google, Warner Brothers, Creative Artists Agency to name a few. That being said, many of our interns have opted to stay on with us past their internships, because of the potential for much greater future gains; as a chance to become an equity owner in RadioFlag . Either way you go with it, start up experience is highly attractive , and increasingly sought after by the savviest employers, now more then ever before.

RadioFlag is niche focused social media i.e. social radio that is driven by LIVE Radio and new generation Radio Listeners. Our product combines Real Live Radio Djs ( on terrestrial and internet stations) with 21st century technological innovation & social media networks, forming the first social radio community of its kind. We also have mobile Apps for iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Windows7, so social radio fans can discover new music and indie artists, while listening to their favorite shows from anywhere. Simply Put, RadioFlag is "The social-radio community for a new generation of LIVE Radio listeners".
INTERNSHIP OFFER:
Software Engineering Internships /Apprenticeships ( Equity compensation possibility based on ability, performance, & team evaluation)
(We are interested in WEB DEVELOPERS with the following experience outlined below):
-Programmers who are looking to advance and sharpen their skills on iPhone, Android, Blackberry, & Windows 7 platforms are also encouraged to apply. Currently we have iPhone, Android, Windows 7, BlackBerry Apps (Version 1) under our belts, and moving forward on Version 2 currently, so this is a prime time to step on board.
We are now setting forth to create RadioFlag 2.0 . Please preview the requirements to follow, for the platform you are most interested to focus on. (Do not be discouraged if you don't have ALL the Technical experience mentioned below. If you have exceptional drive and passion to pickup a white hot technology, feel free to submit your resume)
WEB QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
Computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithm design; trees, arrays, queues, and stacks
Proficiency in at least one: C, C++, C#, or Java
Experience with RESTful web services and JSON or XML formats
Experience working in a collaborative team environment using version control software (SVN or GIt) and issue trackers (Trac)
An intuitive sense of design for User Interface / User Experience
(More Specific Qualifications categorized for each platform below):
WEB PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good foundation in HTML/HTML5, JavaScript and CSS/CSS 3
- Experience building web services with Google App Engine
- Experience with Python
- Familiarity with PHP, MySQL, AJAX or jQuery
- Strong intuition for UX and UI Design
- Strong self-starter with self-management skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with Google Closure or similar Javascript MVC frameworks
- Experience with interfacing with databases
- Development experience with web authorizing tools
iPHONE PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Good understanding of iPhone SDK
Objective-C. Experience working in Xcode.
Experience developing iPad applications
Having already published apps is a strong plus. (NOTE: Be prepared to show samples of your work).
Model View Controller - This design pattern is used everywhere in iOS/iPhone development.
ANDROID PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Good understanding of Android SDK
Experience using Android tools (adb, Monkey, DDMS, etc) and Eclipse IDE
Familiarity Android application components and widgets
Experience developing Tablet applications
Having already published apps is a strong plus. (NOTE: Be prepared to show samples of your work).
WINDOWS7 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience developing Windows 7 mobile or desktop applications
Proficiency using Visual Studio
Experience developing Tablet applications
HTML5 is a plus!

BLACKBERRY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with BlackBerry SDK and Java ME

NON TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Completed or working towards a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

Ability to work collaboratively as well as on your own, as the project requires
Strong sense of ownership and pride, and a drive to exceed expectations.
An Entrepreneurial Spirit, a drive to Succeed
MUST be able to meet up for team strategy sessions 2x per month on Saturdays, the rest of the time you must communicate professionally with your team via Skype, phone etc.
Create documentation and reports for code you produce
Play an integral role in maintaining and improving performance
Must enjoy a music-centric environment
TIME REQUIREMENTS:
- PART TIME 15-20 HOURS /WEEK
- Bi-monthly SATURDAY meet-ups are required in our Newport Beach office. You may work remotely the rest of the time, while remaining in stellar communication with your team via email, teleconference and/ or skype in between meet -ups.

Although the internship is unpaid, it is a rich dynamic experiential learning experience that does not come around very often. This opportunity allows you to learn as much as you want about start up /entrepreneurial success, bring your own ideas to the table, and take ownership of projects with full support from your team. This is an internship environment where creative learning and entrepreneurial thinking is nourished, where you can take control of your destiny. It's totally up to you.
Interns will be evaluated during the internship. Outstanding interns will be noticed by the team, and at the end of the 4 month internship period, (or sooner depending on level of performance and dedication) standouts will be invited to continue on with the RadioFlag team. Those whose performance is evaluated to be an asset to the team will be presented with a generous equity compensation package, and will become equity owners and permanent members of the team going forward.
