Meet the Team

Morgan Davis, sometimes mistaken for a ginger Julia Stiles, is our editor-in-chief.  She can usually be found sipping hot chocolate in her giant fuzzy bathrobe while editing for us and her school paper, the Daily Colonial.  This Mid-West girl loves big city life, but occasionally lets her central Illinois naivete show, particularly when talking about corn.  She enjoys interning at the Peace Corps, going to happy hours with her roommates, watching “The Office,” making vegan chocolate chip cookies and doing random art projects.  Her ambitions in life include owning a townhouse in Georgetown with an English Bulldog named Tony LaRussa, traveling the world, freelance writing for fabulous magazines and decorating houses.

Kara Manos is an editor and article manager for College Magazine. She currently writes for her school newspaper and is an online fashion columnist for the DC Examiner. An aspiring women's fashion and interest magazine editor, Kara dreams of her future "Sex and The City" lifestyle but until then, Manolo Blahnik's, Manhattan and Mr. Big, will have to wait.

Nancy Mucciarone is our web editor, and enjoys sarcastic remarks, Animal Planet, theme parties, and cheese. When she's not being an unruly sorority girl at Syracuse University or writing for College Magazine, she is typically Facebook stalking, online shopping, or trying to curb her Milk Dud addiction. She aspires to one day be Carrie Bradshaw, write for Cosmo, or, (hopefully), both.

Anna Marina Karadimas is the Photo Editor at College Magazine and loves all things pink. She hates anything serious like politics and thinks if the whole world forgot about all serious and boring things and only discussed fashion and entertainment all the time, think about how much happier we'd all be... WAY HAPPIER. She's a University of Maryland senior getting a double degree in journalism and studio art and hopes to bust outta here and move on up to  NYC. She loves the feeling of a great new pair of heels on her feet, dreams of one day owning four-figured red-soled Louboutins, and agrees with Peter Ustinov who said "If Botticelli were alive today he'd be working for Vogue."

Kristin Torres is junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia, studying political science and Russian literature. Originally from California, Kristin enjoys being a typical West coast hippie, maintaining a vegan food blog and wearing flip flops in the snow. While she’s no longer a journalism major, she was twice an editor at The Maneater student newspaper and is currently a news anchor at MU’s awesome campus station, KCOU 88.1. A barista, she’s a huge coffee nerd and sometimes flirts with the idea of dropping the whole ‘future political reporter’ thing and just opening up a corner café.

Tony Herman likes football more than you. He also likes basketball more than you. In general, even if you really think you love sports, he loves them more. He's been working as the blog editor since May and loves reading what pops into his bloggers' minds. A UMD Broadcast Journalism junior, he's sure this won't be the only job he's doing for a media organization for free, but, as an ambiguous wise man once said, "It's whatever anymore."

Allyson Dickman is a first time editor for CM and is a senior journalism major at UMD who really came here for the sports teams, oh was she fooled. Her three vices: coffee, good books and reality tv. When she's not working on the side as a foodie, lazing around on the couch with friends or skiing the slopes out west, she spends her time working on various magazines.

Andrew is College magazine's E-newsletter Editor. An avid fan of print publication, he chose to cave to the Internet gods when they threatened to take his advertising revenue away. A junior English major, Andrew's slowly counting down the days until being "artsy" becomes financially impractical. When he's not editing, Andrew enjoys writing, the music of Miles Davis, reading GQ and raving annoyingly about Cape Town.

Lizzie Horne loves hiking in Utah, singing to be Beyonce's music and going for the cheap laugh. This University of Maryland sophomore is a journalism major with minors in Spanish language and African American studies. When she's not writing or editing for College Magazine, you can find her hosting community service events for Hillel, hanging out with her Thetas and planning social action programs with Community Roots

Jenna Singer is a sophomore at Towson University.  She is an Early Childhood and Special Education Major.  In her free time she loves to babysit, travel, spend time with her best buddy from the Best Buddies program on campus, and participate in Hillel activities on campus.  In the winter, her true passion is skiing.  She is a ski instructor at Ski Liberty and LOVES it! Jenna is very excited to be a campus rep for College Magazine at Towson University!

Eleni Stylianou is a senior communication major and campus representative at the University of Maryland. She is Greek by both blood and letters. Every summer of her college career has been dedicated to taking classes for her goal of graduating early. People think she's a nerd, but she wants to get a head start in life. Well, mainly she just wants to move to California and become a celebrity.

Kareena Mims is a senior communication major at the University of Maryland with a focus in Social Influence. She is quite busy juggling school, two jobs, and being the Account Director for College Magazine. After all the work is done, Kareena loves to be with friends, travel and explore new places. Kareena also has the privilege of calling Miami "home" where she can get away and relax on the beach!...or in her backyard.

Hilary Weissman, CM's Social Media intern, is a sophomore journalism major and Spanish minor at the University of Maryland. She's fostered a love for dance, art, coffee, and acoustic guitar players throughout her young adulthood. She particularly enjoys writing about television, movies, books, and fashion. As much as Hilary loves gallivanting through Maryland and DC, she can't wait to move back to New York. She aspires to live in a studio loft in NYC with her very first puppy, and write for some fabulous magazine. Hilary has even resigned herself to the fact that her work will probably be printed online rather than in the print form she so desires to preserve. She's been a fan and subscriber to numerous magazines in her life and is excited to add College Magazine to that list.

Caitlin Dempsey is a senior who is majoring in English as well as Communications with a focus in public relations. She is currently the president of Lambda Pi Eta and holds a position at Adele's Restaurant at the University of Maryland. Caitlin aspires to work in the field of Broadcast Journalism someday, and hopes to gain her master's degree in journalism after graduation.

Marly is finishing her last semester at UW-Milwaukee. She'll be graduating with a degree in Journalism and Media Communication in May. She's an aspiring magazine editor and spent this past summer interning at Seventeen magazine in NYC. She enjoys reading magazines and thrift shopping and hopes to move back to NYC following graduation to pursue an editorial position.

When she's not out enjoying the beauty of College Park bars or window-shopping in Georgetown, Anna Kowalczyk does the PR directing for College Magazine. She loves to taste a little fame while searching for College Magazine's celebs and dreams of representing a rock star after living out her college life. More likely, she'll end up as a starving writer, living with her parents in Jersey suburbia.

Nicole Eisenberg is our Public Relations Coordinator. She's a freshman at the University of Maryland and while currently undecided, she plans to declare a marketing major and leadership minor.  Nicole loves spending time with all of the important people in her life (and also with her miniature dachshund, Mocha)!  She's a big Ravens and Terps fan after being introduced to football from growing up cheerleading. Now you'll catch her playing volleyball though. When she's not working with celebrities and College Magazine giveaways, Nicole loves to read and relax at the beach.

Jared Launius is a sophomore at the University of Missouri, studying convergence journalism and creative writing. He's a first time blog editor at CM, and also posts a weekly sports blog. Jared works as a campus tour guide and also co-hosts a sports show on MU's campus radio station, KCOU. If you go by appearances, Jared looks way more indie than he really is. In reality, he's just a dude that loves the Internet, spends too much money on Chipotle and annoys anyone that will listen with his Bob Dylan impression. Originally from Kansas City, Jared has come to channel the philosophy of the KC Royals: never get anyone's hopes up, and if you fail blame someone else.

Amanda DeLuise is a Journalism/Sociology sophomore at New York University who spends all her time and money exploring the city that never sleeps and going to shows.  Whether it's partying after hours at the Met, watching shirtless dudes stagedive to Minor Threat covers from the second floor of a Brooklyn loft, or just hanging out with James Franco at Starbucks, her life in New York City is anything but boring.

Raven Haller is a freshman English Major and Humanities Scholar at UMBC, where she enjoys living on campus and hanging out with her friends.   She loves soft serve ice-cream, bad puns, and sarcasm.  In her spare time she works as a karate instructor. Raven plans to be an editor for either books or magazines, as long as she’s working with words she doesn’t care which.  In addition to being the web editor for CM, she also does monthly book reviews for RT Book Reviews Magazine.

Rosemary Dorsett is a junior at the University of Maryland studying journalism and art history. Now the celebrity editor at College Magazine, this New Jersey native loves traveling and experiencing new cultures but knows she’ll never find a place more perfect than the Jersey shore. When she’s not editing or writing she can be found running, scouring the pages of Harper’s Bazaar or bargain hunting at consignment and vintage stores.
