Daytona Beach, Florida

Alright, so you think NASCAR is dumb. Fair enough. Look for the common ground: you’ve probably always wanted to drive that fast, and, if the movie Dodgeball has taught us anything, we all love washing cars in our bathing suits. Sun, sand and a great place to bring out – or suppress – that little bit of NASCAR in all of us.

Not 3 miles from downtown Daytona Beach, the 208 roomy suites at the Hawaiian Inn provide the essential “base camp” for your 2010 Floridian Spring Break. While the rooms provide oceanfront or city-front views, along with access to an Olympic-sized pool, large pool deck and a grill and tiki bar, the area will keep you busy for the week. Dubbed the “World’s Most Famous Beach,” Daytona Beach boasts a number of attractions, including Daytona International Speedway (for all you NASCAR fans), a slew of bars near the beach (…for all you NASCAR fans), various outdoor activities, and several museums (not for all you NASCAR fans).

For a sultry Spring Break filled with seduction and … well … things you just wouldn’t do around mom and dad, look no further than the Desert Inn. A Daytona Beach hotspot for spring breakers annually, the Desert Inn offers a variety of room layouts. Choose from among 225 oceanfront, courtyard, or sunset view suites, some which include Jacuzzi terraces for some extra bucks. Home to Daytona Beach’s largest pool deck, be sure to spend time poolside to catch wet bikini contests, banana eating contests, whipped cream eating contests, freestyle rap contests – er, no idea how that one got in there. Regardless, if you’re looking for a wild Spring Break in Daytona Beach (read: if you’re interested in getting to Hell more quickly), book a room at the Desert Inn.

Opening their rooms to only spring breakers during the month of March, the Flamingo Inn’s beachfront location and student-only atmosphere should provide a Spring Break you’ll be lucky to remember. Rooms feature either patios or balconies, some with views overlooking the pool (which is heated, and open 24 hours) and the beachfront. The biggest selling point might be the BYOK – bring your own keg – offer. Take one keg (or two, or three…) to the pool bar – no one’s going to stop you.
