Acapulco, Mexico

It made headlines a couple years back for its drug-related violence, but really, what’s Spring Break without some danger? Just keep your drugs and your drinks separate, and you’ll be absolutely fine.
Located right in the center of Acapulco’s “Golden Zone” of white sandy beach, the Copacabana boasts 430 rooms of on-the-beach real estate, 38 of which are junior suites that accommodate 4 people comfortably and come complete with color TVs and DVD players (for those rainy days) and private balconies overlooking Acapulco Bay. Not to mention the 4 bars, 3 jacuzzis, poolside hammocks, and being within walking distance of popular Acapulco clubs, including the Hard Rock Café and Planet Hollywood.
Live like a king (sort of) at this Spring-Break equipped hotel. Built back in the 1970s, the Romano Palace complements its 270 rooms with a lobby bar (that features live music), a restaurant and a pool bar. Because, really, you can’t have too many bars on Spring Break. Its choice location sandwiches the Romano in between Acapulco’s Condesa Beach and some of the city’s hottest nightlife; Disco Beach, Paradise and Mangos are located directly across the street. Oh, and they offer waiter service on the beach. Nothing like satiating that thirst for royalty by getting that turkey club delivered straight to your beach umbrella.
MTV Spring Break. Have you heard of it? There’s generally a stage, a ton of coeds, usually a Fat Joe appearance. Yeah, well, MTV will be staying at the Playa Suites Hotel the week of March 13. Still unconvinced? Not only is the Playa Suites Hotel the only accommodation to provide 24/7 food, beverage and bottled water (Remember: You ARE in Mexico), but its location on El Morro Beach puts it near the best shopping, eating and boozing in Acapulco. And it has a hot tub. And the rooms are air-conditioned. And MTV is going there, for crying out loud.
