Okay, so I know that poor Liam Aiken would like to have been created a normal NYU student like the rest of us, but the matter of fact here is that he’s not a normal NYU student like the rest of us. He’s been in movies with Julia Roberts AND Jim Carey.
Liam Aiken was my roommate’s first real crush. We probably first saw him in the movie Stepmom, released in 1998. He played the little boy who’s stepmom was Julia Roberts. Since then, she’s had a huge crush on him. HUGE.
He’s since been in other movies; namely, Good Boy!, and more importantly, A Series of Unfortunate Events. Last year, I swore I saw him at my lunch table (well, it wasn’t really my lunch table. I was alone at a 6 person table when three boys sat at the opposite end from me) so I Googled him and found that he did, in fact, go to NYU and was studying film and television.
This weekend was FULL of Liam Aiken for me.
On Friday night, my friends and I went to the NYU Open Art Studios, where a bunch of people I knew were displaying artwork. I saw him in the basement where my friend Tyler was putting on a performance piece. It was pretty cool. It was a fancy, classy dinner party that you needed to climb through a window in order to attend. It would make more sense if you had been there, but that’s art for you.
Anyway, I saw Liam Aiken in said basement. I didn’t say hi, my roommate and I just whispered and giggled to each other about him.
BUT THE NEXT NIGHT I decided to have a party in my room because my roommate was gone. And to my surprise.. who shows up but LIAM AIKEN. He was sitting on my bed! I even got a chance to talk to him. I learned he was from Weehawken, New Jersey. Awesome.
Now, I don’t want to sound like a creep in case Liam Aiken Googles his name and sees this; I just think this will be the only opportunity I’ll have for the next few years to say that a movie star has been in my bed. Because this is NYU and these things just happen.
