A Blog That is NOT About Jon and Kate Plus Eight
Since I cannot stomach any more talk about the trainwreck that is the Gosselin family (and the ratings monster their show has become as a direct result of the recent drama), I had to find some other things to talk about. Not as easy as it sounds. It seems that Jon and Kate are the Rob (Pattinson) and Kristen (Stewart) of this week; their impending divorce and the status of their reality show are like watching a car accident in slow motion. So, even though it took a little extra effort, here’s the latest from the entertainment world:
- Perez Hilton isn’t laughing anymore. The famous celebrity blogger was apparently a little too harsh when he criticized the Black Eyed Peas‘ new album, The E.N.D. The Peas’ manager, Polo Molina, allegedly punched Perez in the face, leaving him with a black eye. Molina may actually serve jail time for the assault, since the District Attorney could rule that it violates his probation-which he got after a DUI charge in 2006. Is this some kind of cautionary tale for entertainment bloggers everywhere? Should I take it down a notch? Nah…being snarky and judgmental is too much fun.
Oh God. Tell me I don't look like that.
- Not to overindulge my obsession with The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but this latest scandal is actually newsworthy! Danielle Staub, whose sketchy past has caused plenty of drama among the Jersey gals, is suing ex-boyfriend Stephen Zalewski for trying to release a sex tape, presumably filmed during a happy moment in their messed-up unusual relationship. Gross. Just when I thought she couldn’t surprise me anymore, a sex tape pops up, and I’m scandalized all over again. I guess it’s something to keep me occupied until the second season begins…

- This time, the joke’s on Dane Cook. Actually, it’s on his sister-in-law, Erika McCauley, who was just arrested and charged for helping her husband (Cook’s half-brother) swindle millions of dollars from the comedian. Allegedly, the couple funneled more than $3 million of Cook’s money into their own bank account-not to mention the $12,500 a month they were being paid to manage assets of Great Dane Enterprises, Cook’s production company. I wonder if Dane sent the Kool-Aid man to their house…you know, to break through the wall and offer them some juice. I know, lame joke. There’s a reason I’m a blogger and not a comedian, people!
